Born into the family of warriors from Udaipur, I belong to the Chauhan Dynasty. My great grandfather Mehta Laxmilal was the Commander-in-Chief of Mewar Army and my father Commander Pratap Singh Mehta, is a veteran of the Indian navy, who fought the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

The warrior spirit of my royal lineage has made me an achiever with a do or die attitude. Although my birthplace has been Mumbai, I have been raised across India. My father, a soldier-sailor, served multiple postings in the Navy. Interestingly, because of his postings, we changed homes umpteen times. That’s the reason, both me and my brother Nakuul Mehta, who is an Indian TV actor, imbibed the quality of adaptability at a very early age.

I grew up with a diverse exposure and an ardent love for art, culture, creativity, and of course for my motherland.

I started working at the age of 19 years as an advertising model, thereon moved to hosting Radio Shows and alongside completed my post-graduation in Psychology. After studies, I dabbled in theatre and acting, and did numerous radio spots, voiceovers, and dubbing.

I got my first ever call to anchor a road show in Pune for just Rs. 5000/- and finally found my passion for entertaining and alleviating my audience.

I am blessed to have been mentored by legendary radio host Ameen Sayani – ‘The Golden Voice’, Late Partap Sharma and renowned theatre director Nadira Babbar during my early career days. I was also groomed by the queen of elegance and panache – Maureen Wadia when I participated in Mrs. Gladrags 2007.

I was among the top 10 finalists walking and talking tall with some of the most attractive women in the country. This very experience taught me – “You are what you believe yourself to be.” I believed in my potential, learned how to apply my personality and also how to radiate it.

Oprah Winfrey’s magic has shaped a part of me.

My admiration for Oprah Winfrey grew while I was still a kid. As I watched her shows (which I still do), tears would roll down my eyes when she made people share their intimate lives with the world.

To me she is a magician helping people release their innermost feelings, channelizing their emotions, and allowing them to share their stories without inhibition. She has always inspired me to attain my true purpose. In fact, she has been the motivating force for my dream to launch my own show soon.
